INTRODUCTION TO THE BARBER COLLECTION
The Barber collection contains an eclectic assortment of documents in both print and manuscript. There are several ledger books from Peru, Keeseville, and Black Brook. In addition, there are a number of land contracts as well as doctors' notes and prescriptions. There is a collection of calling cards from various, people along with a group of pamphlets from a Saratoga bathhouse. It does not seem that all the pieces in the collection are one single person's business, but the business of several individuals. The ledgers have several different people's names on them and are from several different businesses.
