To all to whom these Presents shall come Greeting: Know ye That we Lewis Amlin & Julia his wife, Dolphin Amlin & Rosella his wife. William Peltier & Harriet his wife. *Heirs at law of Charlotte Goyette deceased for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & twenty Dollars, lawful money of the United States of America, to each in hand paid by Joseph Goyette of Chazy, at or before the executing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have promised, released, and forever quitclaimed, and by these presents do promise, release, and forever quitclaim unto said Joseph Goyette and to his heirs and assigns forever, all that certain peice or parcel of land situated in Chazy in the County of Clinton, being the north third part of lot number 12 in the refugee tract. Bounded, in part, on east by Lake Champlain, and running westwardly being the same premises now in the possesion of the said party of the second part having a *right to posses & occupy and use said premises during his natural life. hereby intending to convey our respective shares, and each of our shares of the said premises being one (undivided?) one fifth, to each of us, the above grantors, and as the heirs at law of said Charlotte Goyette, our late mother, and all of our possesion in law & in trust in & to said premises. To Have and To Hold , the said released premises unto the said Joseph Goyette his heirs and assigns to his own proper use and (b..hoo..?) forever. In Testimony Whereof we the undersigned named individually & each for himself & herself have hereunto set our hands and seals this Eleventh day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty six.

Clinton County: I certify that on the third of January 1867 before me appeared Dolphin Amlaw & Rosella his wife, Lewis Amlaw and Julia his wife, both to me personally known to be the persons described in and who executed the within deed of land, personally acknowledged the execution thereof. And the said Rosella & Julia, in a private examination apart from her husband , each acknowledged that she executed the same (?) without any fear or compulsion from her husband.
