Rouses Point 2

1869

The red dots mark the lots occupied by J. Amlaw and C. Amlaw

A little further up are is lot #35, the 80 acre part of Charles Amlaw's revolutionary State land grant, the one he signed away to the speculator Benj. Mooers due to the fact that this area was under dispute with the British and was in fact occupied by British troops and therefore uninhabitable. This is what I read, but now that I'm looking at the map, it seems awfully far south for the British to be "disputing" doesn't it?
At any rate I don't believe that Charles ever actually occupied the land.
